Wayne Brickey's Biography
Wayne Brickey grew up in San Diego and served a mission in the Great Lakes area. He married Joanne Rossi in 1967, and they have 12 children and a growing number of grandchildren. He attended San Diego State University and Brigham Young University, where he received his Doctoral degree in Higher Education Curriculum.
Some years ago, a health concern prompted Wayne to begin lifting weights. This became an avid interest, in which he now holds several state records. He also enjoys yard work, motorcycling, and family history. His great interest is his family.
Brother Brickey started teaching for the Church Educational System in 1969. For many years, he has taught Adult Religion Classes and given Know Your Religion and Education Week lectures. In 1998, he received a Teaching Excellence Award from BYU Division of Continuing Education. A long-term friend said, "I am always inspired and learn new things when I hear Wayne speak." He is the author of the inspiring books Making Sense of Suffering, Peace Be Still, and Inviting Him In—How the Atonement Can Change Your Family.
Wayne Brickey is an experienced tour director. He has conducted tours for BYU Travel Study to the Holy Land and at Church History sites as well as in Central America. His knowledge and background with Travel Study enables him to provide a well-rounded experience for the participants on his tours today.
