In this adventure tour you have the opportunity to see two of the most impressive cities in the Ancient Maya; the beautiful restored city of Tikal and the city of El Mirador that is still being uncovered and re-discovered every day. This tour will maximize time by traveling to the remote El Mirador area by Helicopter allowing you this unique adventure in 1 day. You will also enjoy a full day in Tikal Park marveling at the restored temples and relaxing in the vacation village of Flores.

Daily Itinerary

DAY 1 – GUATEMALA – FLORES
YAXHA SUNSET Arrive into Flores and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a free morning to relax or explore the colonial city of Flores. After lunch transfer to Yaxha National Park (approx 1hr) with your private guide to explore this atmospheric lakeside site ending with refreshments & wonderful views at sunset over the rainforest canopy from atop the main temples.

DAY 2 – FLORES
EL MIRADOR (Helitour one day) Get ready for an amazing adventure! Today will be spent exploring the largest and yet most fascinating site in the Maya World. Take a 30 minute helicopter ride to the El Mirador Basin. Here you will climb the most massive pyramid ever built on Earth, named La Danta. Its construction filling alone is 2.8 million cubic meters and it covers a very large surface at its base: 6.5 by 3.5 football fields! At Structure 34 you will appreciate a magnificent frieze depicting a jaguar paw and then explore the Tiger Pyramid. Return back to Flores via helicopter.

DAY 3 – FLORES
TIKAL TOUR After breakfast, depart with your guide to Tikal National Park. Explore the amazing UNESCO protected Mayan Temple site of Tikal where huge Mayan temples rise above the jungle canopy and monkeys and tropical birds are abundant in the surrounding rainforest. After lunch at the park, return to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 4 – FLORES
Bid farewell to Flores and transfer to airport for your flight back to Guatemala City.
